UP: Principal, 2 Staff Members Held After Class 10 Student Was Gangraped On School Property and Thrown Off Terrace

Police said on Saturday that a kid in class 10 in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, died after being thrown over the terrace of a school building after reportedly being sexually assaulted by the school management and sports instructor. The principal took part in the crime as well.

According to the authorities, the event happened on Friday at the private school. 15-year-old girl was killed instantly.

The child died after falling off a swing, the school administration originally informed the police. However, after reviewing the CCTV video, the police discovered that the girl had fallen from the school building's terrace, according to PTI authorities.

The principal summoned the victim's daughter to school even after it had been closed for the summer, according to the father of the victim who submitted the complaint.

The father said that once she arrived at the school, sports instructor Abhishek Kannaujia and school manager Brijesh Yadav kidnapped her and, in order to cover up their crime, flung her from the school's terrace, according to PTI.

Police discovered during their first inquiry that the school administration had attempted to mislead them on the occurrence and had also cleaned up any bloody remnants from the student's fall site.

According to Ayodhya Superintendent of Police (City) Madhuban Singh, “On Saturday afternoon, on the complaint of the family of the girl student, a case was registered against the school principal, school manager, and a sports teacher for gangraping the minor girl, murdering her, erasing the evidence, hatching criminal conspiracy, and also under the POCSO Act.”

He continued by saying that despite the copy of the postmortem report being illegible, they were still verifying the rape claims. “It will take some time for the original report to reach us,” he added, adding that the situation is being looked into.

After the postmortem, the girl's corpse was incinerated in front of the police. According to the authorities, the girl's father conducted the final rites. On social media, meantime, there was a commotion as many users requested the detention of the guilty and harsh punishment for them.

Under sections 376D (gangrape), 302 (murder), 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of offence or giving false information to screen offender), 120B (criminal conspiracy), and POCSO Act, a FIR was filed against manager Brijesh Yadav, principal Rashmi Bhatia, and sports teacher Abhishek Kannaujia.
